I choosed to write this article because i frequently hear people saying that the NBA is the best basketball league in the world. It's not surprising if it's american that are saying this but I often hear that from french people.
You can see here that on the ring that is given to NBA champions is written World Champion as if being an nba champion makes you being the world champion I'm going to show you here that is absolutely untrue.
But if the nba isn't the best league in the world what is the best league in the world ? Well, in my opinion there is no answer to that question because the 2 leagues that could compete for that title are the Euroligue and the NBA and both of thoses leagues are really different and you can't compare them.
The players in the nba are well more talented and also more athletic, that's a fact. It's because the majority of players in the world when they have the opportunity try to enter the NBA. So every young europeans talent leaves europe for the US as soon as possible because the NBA is way more famous and the salary is way better than in Europe.

Stephen curry, here shooting from almost half court. And no it's not an exception he's making one of thoses shot at least once in a week.
But in Europe the game is way deeper and more collective. Teams are using a lot of tactics and the ball is way more often shared, it's an other way of playing basketball. And a well executed team play, in my opinion, look as good as a dunk from Lebron James or three pointer from deep from Stephen Curry.

That's why i think you can't compare Europeans basketball and the nba. I don't know personnally wich one is better so i watch both but i may have a slight preference for the NBA. But don't say that one is better than an other it's just my personnal opinion.

thank you for this article, i don't know much things about basketball but i found your article pretty interesting. I learn a lot about those two team and their differencies. i only knew that the nba was from the us but i din't know that european people could enter it. The informations that you gave are very well chosen and organised. I agree with the fact that both of those leagues can't be compared due to the extreme difference between the european and the american system. While the americans tend to focus more on individual athletic performances, europeans prefer collective plays and team work, and this is why the NBA champions cannot be considered as "World champions" as it says on the rings. (by the way the famous track athlete Noah Lyles has been criticized a lot by the american audience for maing this position statement)
