You are never Safe ...

Hey Charlies ! I discovered this TV series Safe on Netflix and I really really loved it. Usually I don't watch thriller but this one... I was caught up in the suspense.

Safe is a British television drama series created by the author Harlan Coben and written by Danny Brocklehurst. In only eight episodes, we are trapped in a crime thriller in which plot twist and mystery are everywhere.

It takes place in a luxury gated community in Britain where everything seems normal and quiet, but after his teenage daughter goes missing, a widowed surgeon begins uncovering dark secrets of the people closest to him. He still grieve the loss of his wife but he doesn't lack strength and faith to search for his daughter.

After reading some articles about the series, the only thing critics remembered about Safe is “Michael C Hall’s odd and synthetic British accent” ( he is the father of the missing girl ). Indeed, they all noticed that it doesn't quite ring true because he is an American actor who speaks here with a British accent. However, it is certainly not the most interesting thing about Safe whatever they says.

Why should you watch Safe ?

5 things to convince you :

Suspense and plot twist ! They turns each episode in an immensely addictive mystery. Literally everyone is a suspect. Efficient suspense makes tension growing throughout each episode, clues and cliffhangers hold you all the way.

The opening credits music ! "Glitter & Gold" from Barns Courtney is the perfect accompaniment for the credits, the catchy rock song highlights how not all is as it seems in Safe. Both scary and lively ( like the series itself ) you must add it in your playlist !

Flash Back ! The all series is built on them, at the beginning of each episode, we are learning little by little what really happened that mysterious night where a party had degenerated. Each episode comes back earlier and earlier in the night. I love flash back because it makes me feel as I know something more than characters and as if I could resolve the crime on my own.

Women ! I find that women roles were quite important and each of them were very charismatic. They lead the story and their personality are realistic and complex. In addition, the two cops who take care of the case are actually two women.

Comedy ! It could seem contradictory but despite the thriller atmosphere, British humor is still here. The best example is the comedy couple The Marshalls, ghastly and likable at the same time. I loved them because the fact they only do bad choices makes them hilarious.

 Voila

I hope it convinced you !

your next movie to watch

Hi Charlie ! Do you know the movie « To The Bone » ? I talked about it briefly in class the other day but maybe you are not in my class and even if you are, today I am going into the details. Let's begin !

I guess you know more or less what anorexia is, people talk a lot about it these days in the medias, but like for all psychiatric diseases there are SO MANY prejudices that make me cringe each time. Well To The Bone is a Netflix (but you can find it easily elsewhere) drama movie directed by Marti Noxon, with Lily Collins, Alex Sharp and Keanu Reeves among many other great actors on the story of a 20 year old young woman suffering from anorexia who enters a patient program. You see the character(Ellen)'s battle with the disease, the highs and the lows that come with it in a very realistic way. I wanted to share it with you because I saw it recently and it moved me a lot. The actors are incredible, Lily Collins had a tough time with anorexia so she played her character in such a way that you really understand how this disease works and the nightmare the people suffering from it go through, so it helps breaking the idea that it is not a real disease, that it is just people loving being skinny.

Well i hope I have convinced you to watch it (GO WATCH IT NOOOOOOOOOOW … oh no wait do your litterature homework first )

have a nice day:)

                                               Friends

HEYYYYY everyone ;) ;) So as you can see from the title and if you're a true friends fan , you probably knew what I'm going to talk about today hahah , so I'm going to talk about the show Friends it' s my favorite show of all time, it's an iconic show that lasted 10 years ! it talks about six people : Joey , Chandler , Ross , Phoebe , Rachel and Monica in their 20's who hang out at this coffee shop called central perk where they talk about sex , realtionships , friendship , work and the crazy stuff happening in their life and it's so relatable for some parts haha

The thing I like the most about this show is how each character has his own thing like Joey has his own catchphrase : How you doinning , he loves to eat and he always goes to Monica's place to eat from their fridge  , Ross is always correcting everyone saying "Whom" instead of "Who" and he has the record of the most embarrassing dates ever , Monica is always yelling and saying : I KNOWW hahaha , she's a cleaning freak and she is so competitive even with herself ,  Rachel is just a sassy girl , she loves shopping and she's such a diva but in a funny and kind way , Phoebe is so weird but in a good way , she 's in another world , she's very spontaneous and you never know what she's doing but she is so sweet and you can't help loving her and finally , the one and only  Chandler  Bing , he is joke maker of this show , as he said in the show " he uses humour as a defense mechanism" , he has no experience with girls and you can clearly see that hahah

This show is so special and as you can see I'm obssessed with It , I know every detail of it because it's so funny and it was made in the best times in New York which is like the best city ever !
If you didn't watch it ,you must do it now hahah stop reading this and go watch a friends episode :) But seriously it is amazing and so unique , I love everything about it .

A remastered anime by Netflix.

Hi Charlie!!!

This is my new and first post, and I am going to present to you an Anime remastered and produced by Netflix.
So, to locate you an Anime is a manga in motion, presented as a cartoon.
This anime is called "Devilman Crybaby", maybe if your parents were born between 1960 and 1975, they might remember the anime "Devilman", created by Kiyoshi Nagai also known as Go Nagai. It's the original version of this story published from 1972 to 1973.

"Devilman Crybaby" is now remastered by Netflix, published in January 2018, and introduced with a season of 10 episodes, around 25 minutes per episode, the new version is written by Ichirō ōkouchi. It is a Dark Fantasy series and story.

The story is the same from the original version:

Akira Fudo a young man, is abreast from his strange childhood friend Ryo Asuka that some demons came back to take back earth from humans, these demons manifest at some strange pseudo-Satanic parties named Sabbath. Ryo persuades Akira to come to a party and unite him with a powerful demon called "Amon". At this precise moment, Akira changes form and started to have an abnormal strength, becoming the most famous guy in his school.
Along the story, he will be helped to fight the demons by Ryo, Miki Makimura his best friend/ He lives with her since he 's a child, Miko Kuroda his running partner.
BUT there is an addition of characters that give some life,  to this story and they're a gang, The Wamu's gang, all along the series they freestyle and remember the actuality of what is going on in the city. This Gang is composed by Wamu, Gabi, Mayuta(Kukun), Babo and Hie, the five of them going to help Akira too.

This series is full of sentimental and rap/poem soundtrack which is the thing I prefer, when I say rap it is not rap with music but freestyles with a basic mouth beat (beatbox) and it is not bad at all.
Also, because the original anime is old the decors are mixed between the late 60's/70's and nowadays with futuristic gadgets and it is a masterpiece for me.

I cannot make a comparaison of the two versions simply because I haven't watched the older one yet.

I wish you will watch it and enjoy it, and even if you do not like mangas I highly recommend it to you.
