Today, I am going to write about an exhibition I went to last Friday during my free time.
I am sure everyone living in Marseille heart about it since there are posters of it all over Marseille. Well it happened that I love Matisse and Miro so I decided to spend some time over there.
Because of the posters, I thought there would be a lot of paintings from these two painters but I was quite disappointed because there were only one by Matisse and two by Miro. I figured out the posters were really to make people come but it wasn't representative of the actual exhibition.
Anyway! There were many different art pieces by several "unknown" (for me) artists and I found it great to see so much paintings by different artists on the same subject but with a different point of view or way of painting. I discovered some painters that I really liked such as Erro, Fernand Léger, Carl Grossberg, Max Ernst or Prampolini. All of them tried to represent the future in their own way and that is what was the most interesting about the exhibition.
Since I love analysing art pieces by myself and finding whys to the paintings, I spent about 20 minutes on every painting so my visit lasted about 4 hours! So if you are like me and you would like to go there (which I really advise), make sure you have time forward.
