My trip in London

Hey Charlie, I hope you're doing well. My week in London is so far awesome!
The weather is not too bad, surprisingly sometimes it can be sunny in England, but most of the time it's raining. Thursday I went to oxford street and Piccadilly Circus, it was great! And of course I took a picture with the Big Ben and a red telephone box in the background. Friday morning I went shopping (best part of the day) and then I took the subway to go to tower bridge. Today I went to Camden town, this place is so cool! It's a huge market where you can literally find everything, from the Gothic necklace peak to the hippy flower crown. I also just found out that at the Harold pinter theater is actually playing the importance of being earnest, I'll try to see it!
By the way I took this picture at the changing of the guard in front of Buckingham Palace.

My summer holidays. Postcard from England

Dear Charlie

During these holidays in spent 10 days in England with some friends. It was time, we first were in Yorkshire, where the "Grand Départ" of the Tour de France was, then we moved to a summer camp in the Lake District. It was the second time I did this. It is a magical experience, I did a lot of sports there: football, ghyll scrambling, mountain biking but also a walk near Derwentwater lake, the landscapes there are just amazing. I also visted the little city of Keswick, it is a charming place with lots of touristic shops inculding an amazing sweet shops were everything is made in the Lake Discrict. The only bad point about this trip was the weather which was horrible and rainy.

For the rest of the holidays I spent time with my friends, watched some movies, read some books and worked on the summer homework my English teachers gave me.

Postcard from Edinburgh

Dear Charlie,
Do go to Edinburgh, you'll have a ball.

I didn't know at first which photo to pick for you.

 There are so many great places to visit: Edingburgh Castle, Arthur's Seat, Holyrood Palace, the Britannia Royal Yatch, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Murrayfield stadium etc..

I almost went for the national icons; there are lots of Scottish flags, bagpipers and thistles around but then it was too easy.

 I was  tempted by a photo from the Elephant House where Harry Potter was written.
If you go there make sure you visit the ladies' room. It might be ackward for you but it's worth it.
By the way, did you know that JK Rowling might have got the names Dumbledore and Hagrid from The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy which was on the OIB bacc exam?

In the end I remembered a photo I took in front of the National Library.
I thought it was a fun and original way to promote Scottish literature, history & culture. I particularly like this photo because it looks like Long John Silver is shooting at Sherlock Holmes. I find it an interesting perspective.
