Go Vegan or not?

Hello everyone!
There are a lot of great articles on this blog, focusing on very different topics such as body image, medias, trips, artistic references and recommandations, etc... But today I wanted to talk about something I haven't seen much here: veganism.
Veganism is a lifestyle in which people don't use or eat any animal products and products from animals' exploitation. It promotes animals and environment's protection and also a better personal health.

I know that there are many vegetarians in the OIB and I adopt their way of life too in September 2015. I used to love meat and liked fish, but when I came back from my trip to Thailand, where I had eaten a loooot of everything, I felt bad. Bad in my body and my mind.

So I tried to be vegan, but my parents didn't really agree with that because "I had to get animals proteins to grow up and be healthy". I find a compromise and became vegetarian. I have to admit sometimes it was frustrating to eat vegetarian sushis when my family ate delicious tunna and salmon, but I remembered, I thought about these animals and of how I felt after one month of non stop eating of animals products in Thailand. My frustration went away and I ate (and enjoy) my delicious vegetarian meals.

After months and months of negociations, researchs, etc, my parents finally let me Go Vegan!
I have to say that it is hard enough to be vegan because animals products are everywhere! So it demands organisation and control, but it might be worth it! I also have leather shoes (that I am still wearing)... My mom asks me like 103 questions a day to make me see that veganism isn't THE answer to environmental issues, health and animals freedom. I agree with her, but if we can try something new and see where it gets us why not (obviously if there isn't any dangerous things linked with it)? I wondered what is the point of eating animals products when we discovered that we can live and be healthy without it. If it is for the taste, just go on Youtube, watch a video of animals meant to be eaten and you will be so disgusted that the taste will only be an old idea.
I don't have the absolute truth coming out of my  mouth and I don't know if veganism is the answer to everything (it certainly is not), but I want to try. I invite you to watch a video called 101 Reasons To Go Vegan (it is long enough, but also very interesting) and to read what is on this website: https://www.vegansociety.com/go-vegan/why-go-vegan .

I am not telling you what to do with your life of course, but just think about it. About what would you do to change things. Please let me know what you think about all this vegetarian, veganism, etc thing!

Bye xxx
