Jamming to some jazzy jazz

Hello my dear Charlie , very nice to find you again on this lovely coming back to school you beautiful soul

I felt the need to write something because I've been hearing lately this same sentence : " it's a new school year , a new beginning , a new page "
So I guess it means that some of the oibs will give a sort of advice or reminder about school , homework , stress etc

Well , I thought about homework , how to make it more bearable , or enjoyable : jazzzzzzzz

I'm a big jazz fan ( not modern one though , I will talk about that in a minute ) There are many types , artists using different instruments , songs that have different vibes , I always listen to it and I have everything I need depending on my mood , if I feel like dancing or sleeping or casually walking down the street . I got introduced to it watching 90's movies , that very enjoyable background music , anyways I will try to dig up some of the jazz masterpieces I feel you need to listen , it can help you while you're doing your homework because it's very soothing and it has that new york evening vibe to it !

Modern jazz , I don't really like it because I think it ruins a bit that old fashion that the jazz has , also some of the lyrics don't suit the music .

Here are some of jazz giants by my fav crooners :
- take five by Dave Brubek
- the African Queen by Horace Silver
- do I love you because you're beautiful ? By John Coltrane ( an exceptional saxophonist 🎷)
- I put a spell on you by Nina Simone
- Summertime by Miles Davis
- Stormy weather by Etta James
- Georgia on my mind by Ray Charles
- one mint Julep by the clovers
- L.O.V. E by Nat King Cole
- Mack the knife by Bobby Darin
- I've got you under my skin by Frank Sinatra
- unforgettable by Nat King Cole

I can keep this list going but these are the ones that came to mind and if someone is interested in a Spotify or Deezer list I can share it just send me a message ;) I hope this will help you relax and enjoy ,
I will leave you with a perfect jazz definition :

"what we've tried to do is play the music we know best , the music a cat in Harlem would dig "  Willie Bobo

Take care my dears
sorry I love gifs

  5. As a music lover, you make me discover jazz and it is very cool. The only song I know is Georgia on my mind by Ray Charles (I know, that's a shame :-/). But I will try to listen to all these songs (when I would have done my first creative writings exercise ;-)). Thank you very much.

  9. I don't know many people of your age listening to jazz. It's really rare ! I like the history behind the jazz. At that time, black people in United States really used this music to express what they were going through. I'm not such a huge fan of the genre but I still consider it as art.
