The Strokes

Hello, today I’m going to talk to you about one of my favourite band singers of all time:

The Strokes

I do not know if you ever heard about them, but they are an American band from the 2000’. Their music is a mix of garage grunge music from the 70’s and rock. I wish I could speak about each song separately unfortunately it would take ages, so I will just talk about the different albums.

They produced 7 albums:

Is this It (2001):

Their first album and my favourite with “The New Abnormal”. Pure The Strokes product, a saturated and dirty voice like on a radio and a loud guitar, classical rock music but still so refreshing to listen to.

Room On Fire (2003):

Their second album is as good as the first one, it totally fulfilled the expectations of all the fans of their first album. They did not took any musical risks, the album is still really garage music and the sound and the voice are still dirty.

First Impression of Earth (2006):

Their third album, with some of their most dynamic songs feel like a shout of anger. This album contains some really good songs.

Angles (2011):

Angles, the songs are really pop coded and less grunge and rock. It is not my favourite album of all. Still, there are a lot of good titles like “Machu Picchu”, we can also see that they are exploring different styles like in “You’re so Right”. Each song got a different vibe and I think it’s quite an interesting album and I disagree with the people saying it was a complete disaster.

Comedown Machine (2013):

Their failed album… Criticized by all the critics calling it the end of the band. I totally agree, this album has not any good song, they all seem alike and are quite insipid musically speaking…

The New Abnormal (2020)

This album, their big come back to prove wrong to all the people who said they were done, and latest for the moment is a mix of rock and sometimes a bit of disco, feels strangely nostalgic inspired by 70s and 80s melody. Combining ballads and more upbeat themes, this album is full of great songs without any weak title.

Soo this was my review of their albums hope you liked it and this has inspired you to listen to The Strokes!!
