Sherlock (The BBC's TV series)

Well, hello, Charlie !

As a great fan of this TV series, I had to make an article about it someday...
This magic day happened !
(The protagonist is happy about it, apparenty :D )

I have seen several posts have been made about it, so, if you want to know more about it, I suggest you read them :)

I/ WHAT IS THE TV SERIES ABOUT ?
As its name suggests,Sherlock is a TV series about the extremely famous Sherlock Holmes, created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. You may (or may not) have read the original books, but you have surely at least heard the name of the detective !

The show itself is an adaptation of the original adventures, except this time, in the modern times.

I know, right ?
(You may also think about Elementary, which is also a modern-time adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, but, just so you know, Elementary also brings other major changes to the books, because Dr Watson is a woman, and Sherlock is american. (Quite far, huh ?) As I've not seen it, I can't tell you if it's good or not, but I have to admit, all these changes scare me.
BUT A N Y W A Y S )

Sherlock is the story of John Watson, a former military doctor suffering from the trauma of the war, who is looking for a flatmate. Quite simple, isn't it ? Well that's how he meets the greatest detective of all time, Mr Sherlock Holmes. He works sometimes at Scotland Yard, without getting paid, he just loves solving murders, that is how he is. He is definitively strange, and extraordinarily arrogant, but they will eventually form the most beautiful relationship, while living exciting adventures, and solving amazing cases.

                                             II/WHO ARE THE (MAJOR) CHARACTERS?

So... I'm only going to talk about the major characters we all know : Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson , to avoid any spoilers. But of course, other character are important and these two men are just the protagonists :)

Sherlock Holmes

Portrayed by : Benedict Cumberbatch (You may have seen him in Doctor Strange, Twelve years A Slave or The Imitation Game. He also makes a small appearance in 1917)

Personality : Endowed with extraordinary intellectual abilities, Sherlock is able to deduce the lives of those he meets in a single glance. But, unlike the idea we have of the character, Sherlock has his faults. He is a "cold-hearted", socially maladjusted man who fails to show his emotions and to appear sympathetic to most people.

Occupation : Consulting detective.

Hobbies : Playing violin, mostly.

Dr John Watson

Portrayed by : Martin Freeman (You may have seen him in the Fargo TV series adaptation, The Hobbit trilogy, or Love Actually)

Personality : Often seen as an incompetent and foolish man in today's culture, the John Watson of the series overturns the stereotypes that surround him. He is intelligent (even if Sherlock is more intelligent than him, but that's kind of the subject of all Sherlock Holmes adaptations, isn't it?), knows how to fight, and brings humanity to a series that would perhaps seem too complex without him.

Occupation : Former army doctor, general practicioner.

Hobbies : Writing a blog. (You can visit the blog at The blog of Dr. John. H. Watson (johnwatsonblog.co.uk) which the BBC adapted from the series, but be careful to the spoilers !)

                                                     III/THE FANDOM

There is a lot to say about our AMAZING fandom, but there is already a great article telling a lot about it : Charlie's OIB: BBC Sherlock (oibstcharles.blogspot.com)

If I had to describe the sherlock's fandom in one word, I would choose:

CRAZY.

But I love it. Aha. I'm okay. Uh. Yes. Ahaha.

IIII/ WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH SHERLOCK

So, in my (unsurprising) opinion, Sherlock is one of the greatest series of all time. And don't worry if you know nothing about Sherlock Holmes, it was my case before watching the series !  Talking about the original version of the detective, I am well aware these adventures have been told a countless number of time, but for me, this one have something special, whether you like it or not (That being said, I don't know a single person who have seen it and hated it ). It breaks the stereotypes about the character, and shows the icon under a whole new light : Watson is no longer the annoying, idiot sidekick and Holmes is no longer the perfect hero.

That being said, you need to watch the TV series, because I think it can please absolutely anybody.
For example, you can focus on the cases, the riddles and the murders if you are more a thriller fan but you can also focus more on the well-constructed relationships between the characters.
Also, since we are at the beginning of the holidays and there only is 4 season of 3 episodes each, plus a christmas special, I think you can manage to watch everything ^^

Well, I think I'm done now, I was very happy to write this article UwU If you have anything to say about the post, the TV series, or you just want to chat, don't forget to comment :)

Have nice holidays !

So no one told you life was gonna be this way !!!!

                                               Friends

HEYYYYY everyone ;) ;) So as you can see from the title and if you're a true friends fan , you probably knew what I'm going to talk about today hahah , so I'm going to talk about the show Friends it' s my favorite show of all time, it's an iconic show that lasted 10 years ! it talks about six people : Joey , Chandler , Ross , Phoebe , Rachel and Monica in their 20's who hang out at this coffee shop called central perk where they talk about sex , realtionships , friendship , work and the crazy stuff happening in their life and it's so relatable for some parts haha

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "friends"

The thing I like the most about this show is how each character has his own thing like Joey has his own catchphrase : How you doinning , he loves to eat and he always goes to Monica's place to eat from their fridge  , Ross is always correcting everyone saying "Whom" instead of "Who" and he has the record of the most embarrassing dates ever , Monica is always yelling and saying : I KNOWW hahaha , she's a cleaning freak and she is so competitive even with herself ,  Rachel is just a sassy girl , she loves shopping and she's such a diva but in a funny and kind way , Phoebe is so weird but in a good way , she 's in another world , she's very spontaneous and you never know what she's doing but she is so sweet and you can't help loving her and finally , the one and only  Chandler  Bing , he is joke maker of this show , as he said in the show " he uses humour as a defense mechanism" , he has no experience with girls and you can clearly see that hahah

This show is so special and as you can see I'm obssessed with It , I know every detail of it because it's so funny and it was made in the best times in New York which is like the best city ever !
If you didn't watch it ,you must do it now hahah stop reading this and go watch a friends episode :) But seriously it is amazing and so unique , I love everything about it .
thank you for reading my article , SEE YOU NEXT TIMEEEE ;) ;)

Eurovision 2017

Hello everyone !
This year's edition of the Eurovision, that took place in Ukraine, just ended. Like, right now. It ended, I took a quick shower, and there I am typing an article about it.
Because I'm trash. And if you want some trivia, I started watching the Eurovision two years ago, and literaly fell in love. Well, I mean, back then I might have been baited by Conchita Wurst who had quite the amazing beard, but I actually loved the show, for no particular reason. I guess it's just enjoyable.

Anyway, since I know for sure most of you did not watch the show, I am going to make a little summary, or commentary of how it went. Well, I should warn you of these details, because they are going to be the directive lines of this article : first, know that the main reason I watch the Eurovision is to see good-looking men. Because it is the primary asset of the show. You might have found that out from my commentary anyway... And also, I'm basing it on the Tweets I posted as I watched, so mostly screaming and a lot of sass. You might be better off watching the actual show it you want to perfectly understand its depth - but I promise I will help you a little bit if you are too lazy to do that.

Alright, as I started watching the show, I was very worried about who the presenters were going to be. Of course, I am talking about the Ukrainian presenters, since everybody knows our French presenters are always the absolute worst, and I always watch the show directly on the Eurovision official website. This year again, if you really want to know, my mom sent me a text complaining that they were terrible as always. Anyway, I was affraid this year's main presenter would be last year's winner, whom I still resent for winning instead of the Australian singer - not that I have anything against her, but her talent as a commentator could never equal my dear, dear, dear Måns Zelmerlöw's, Swedish winner from two years ago. But I was pleasantly surprised to actually meet three good-looking young men.

Their names are absolutely impossible to remember. Except for the one in the middle, he's Alex.

Of course, even three of them could never equal one Måns, but it is better than nothing.
So, now, to the actual singing :
The first singer whose voice actually struck me was Poland's. She had a great voice - now, her song was average. I think she was the second one to sing, but anyway, I already wanted her, if not to win, to be high enough in the final ranking. Then it was the
Belarusian duo, that struck me because I actually strongly disliked their song and performance, and wanted them to lose.
Eh, I never said I would be nice, did I ?
The next cute guy was the Austrian singer. He was just so cute. I immediatly wanted him to win. Forget Poland. Austria is what this show is about.
Then, they brought a gorilla on stage.

In case you couldn't tell, on the left there is a gorilla, and on the right an Italian singer.

And I have absolutely no complaint.
Moldova brought in an epic sax- (guy) -ophonist, and a beautiful violonist.
Azerbaijan, a man with a horse mask. At this point I complained a little bit, because it jumpscared me. I was not paying enough attention to the person sitting on top of a ladder, so of course it is entirely my fault.
But before they brought the horse, Portugal had had its time to shine. Its singer's performance was particularly interesting - beautiful song, really, something very artistic. I thought it was really beautiful and I would have payed the guy to sing me some lullabies, but I also thought he would never win the Eurovision, since it is mostly about pop songs, or anything that makes one want to dance and sing along.
Then they brought in the 17 years old Australian singer. Now there's one guy I can legally fantasize about. Too cute, seriously, too cute. And a nice song and voice, with that.
The Spanish singer had his charm too. His song, though, was not so great - but I did find it very catchy. Not too bad, finally.
After half of the singers had been on stage, the presenters decided to give us a little pause, by showing us a little video they had filmed with a person in particular...

Måns Zelmerlöw, aka my only will to live left

I gasped. And almost chocked. Just wanted you to know that. I even sent my mom a text saying "THERE'S MANS !!!!". Because my mom knows what I'm about.
I didn't really follow the UK's singer's performance because I was still thinking about the video I had just seen and under a lot of adrenaline. But from what I remember, she had a pretty nice voice.
Then the Romanian duo arrived, and of course, when you think of Romania, the first thing you think of is yodeling. Thus, their song was called "Yodel it", and the girl did yodel. Pretty good.
I think she just wanted to use her talent at yodeling in a way or another.
Singers sang, and while they were all good singers, I have to say Belgium had the most remarkable voice. She beat Poland at that.
A random good-looking singer showed up and I hadn't payed attention to his nationality at first, but I was not surprised to find out he was Swedish. That is also why I announced my future husband is going to be a Swedish man.
But I immediatly contradicted myself as the Bulgarian singer showed up. Another 17 years old singer, just too cute for this world, and with an amazing deep voice. Seriously, if he is searching for a girl his age with a nice French accent, he can just comment this article and ask for my address.
And last but not least, we got to hear our French singer ! From her introduction video, I saw she played on a ahamaY piano. Interesting brand. Sure sounds artsy. Anyway, her singing actually was not so bad, even though it was not the best, it was pleasantly surprising. I mean, last year's singer was alright too, but France is infamous for its bad Eurovision singers. I have still not completely healed from the "Moustache" song from two years ago. The music being a bad remix of Papaoutai. I'm sure you can guess how I feel about bad remixes of Stromae songs being used for a song about wanting to have a mustache.

And there, everyone had sung ! We got to wait for a little for the results, and listen to last year's singer again, who sadly hadn't turned Australian in the meantime. And then...
Spain lost with 0 points from each country, and only 5 points from people who had voted via their phones. That's sad.
Aaaand, Bulgaria won, and everyone was very happy, and the en-

DAMMIT.

Portugal won, alright. I was pretty upset at first because I really wanted Bulgaria or Belgium to win, but in the end, I think it is actually a good thing Portugal won. His song was really good, and it is always amazing when things change a little bit from usual. It shows that Eurovision is not just about what music will sound the most like the others, but actually about what song will win our hearts.
You really should listen to his performance, that you can probably already find on Youtube. It's a really pretty song that I thought could belong in a Disney - also, his reaction to winning was absolutely adorable.
Congratulations, Portugal ! I hope you will have good-looking presenters next year. Please invite Måns too.
Anyway, I hope you liked this article, even though it is pretty long for a summary. If you did, I encourage you to watch Eurovision next year, it really is a nice show to waste your time on ! And who knows, you might discover many amazing and beautiful artists !

BBC Sherlock

Hi Charlie !

Judith and I want to talk to you about one of the greatest show in the world : Sherlock !
So what is it about ?
It's the story of Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes but in our century.

Afficher l'image d'origine

Even if there is one case per episode, all of them are linked in some way. But the plot is not the only thing that is interesting, the characters are all developed and amazing.

Afficher l'image d'origine

For example, Sherlock, the "high functioning sociopath" to quote him, is easily hated at first but we quickly start loving his sarcasm and his unusual way of seeing things. Moreover, we have to say that he is very classy and handsome (even if you might not think so at the beginning).

Afficher l'image d'origine

Like in the books, John was an army doctor and seconds Sherlock in every cases. He is also very sarcastic, mostly toward Sherlock, and as human and disoriented as we are.

Afficher l'image d'origine

Molly Hooper, a secondary character, is as well developed as the main characters. She is even crucial at some stages of the show.

The fact that it is tranported nowadays is original and very well done.It is very naturally incorporated in the story, for example instead of writing books, John writes a blog and Sherlock texts Scotland Yard.

The way it is filmed and edited is very aesthetic and unique :

Fangirl part :

First, the fandom. It is huge and interprets anything that you can think of. Some theories are even very complex and well thought. It also manages to have 560 000 memes and 33 000 gifs that come from (ONLY) 10 épisodes, even tho they reach 1h30min long each. That stops us from becoming crazy during the hiatuses ( the YEARS of waiting between two seasons).

imageimageThe Adventures of Sharklock Holmes by IncenteFalconer.deviantart.com on @DeviantArt: image

As you may know, fandom always create ships (When you think that two characters should be together). Ours are, among others, Johnlock, aka John and Sherlock, and Sherlolly, aka Sherlock and John (don't judge us).

Judith and I.

PS : As long as we're waiting for season 4, doing a marathon of the show takes only 15 hours in your life. Just saying.
