Is Marxism still relevant in the XXI century ?

Marxism is an ideology born in the XIX century which includes philosophical, economic and social issues. Developed by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, it is a critic of Capitalism and proposes an alternative system of society.

In our market economy the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.
There is very sofisticated website showing off these immens inequalities :

Marx and Engels described how the entrepreneur class exploited the worker class.
Not much has changed, today in the fashion industry for example.
Factories in India are exploiting their workers to maximize their profit.

The growing dehumanisation we are experiencing now is similar to the one explained by Marx and Engels in the XIX century.

Lets take  the example of "Uber"

Everyone knows or uses Uber, the simple, cheap, and fast taxicab app.
The drivers are delared as independant contractors, but are in reality dependant of the Uber company which would normally mean they are employees /  workers.

Uber calls them contractors so they dont´t carry any responsabilities. They don´t  provide cars so the independant drivers have to invest in their own vehicules they use for working.
Each worker is selling his/her own labor work without having normal rights such as paid leave,  health insurance or pension benefits.

The worker class had to fight many years to achieve them, our current society is minimalizing or taking these rights away. The entrepreneurs or capitalists are getting more and more influential.

Companys like Uber don´t take responsabilities for their workers. They don´t take responsabilities at all in our society, in some cases evading taxes in other cases puting profit in front of our environment .

Marxism puts the society first and not the profit.

Our current society doesn´t want to realize that the social inequalities and the reckless behaviour towards our planet will lead us to the worst.

Karl Marx ideas were relevant at the time and are unfortunately still relevant today.
As the famous thinker Jean Paul Sartre would put it :

"Le Marxisme reste donc la philosophie de notre temps il est indépassable car les circonstances qui l ont engendré ne sont toujours pas dépassées".

Sartre 1960
