Flexibility

At the beginning of the year, mrs C caught me speaking french (I'm not denying anything) and asked me to write an article about "flexibilty".
I know it's really been a while since I'm supposed to do it, but I'm counting on Mrs C FLEXIBILITY to still accept this article, because we all know very well that it is a LEGENDARY and NECESSARY skill in the OIB. ;). It has become muchmore necessary ever since the start of the Yoga club hahahaha!!!
In most people's mind, when someone says they are flexible, they usually imagine that they can reach down and touch their toes or do a split. But according to yoga professionals, being "flexible" is much more complex. It is defined as "the range of motion of a given joint or group of joints or the level of tissue extensibility that a muscle group possesses."
That means that each joint and each group of muscles in your body might have a different range of motion or a different level of flexibility. Some areas of your body may be very tight, meaning that the muscles feel short and restricted. Some areas of your body may feel very loose and you may be able to lengthen and move those muscles free. This signifies that no matter how hard you train, some parts of your body can never actually get fully flexible, and you also shouldn't compare your flexibilty to other people's, because all of our bodies have different abilities that can't necessarily change.
Now, you can still train to push yourself to your maximum flexibility. Even thought many recommand Yoga, the sport you decide to practice isn't the main key to flexibility, it is consistence and perseverence. For example, I gained a lot of flexibility with french boxing, a sport you wouldn't suspect to help with flexibilty. To quote Wes Anderson's movie The Darjeeling Limited: "f**k the itinerary". My point is that if yoga is not for you and you still want to gain flexibility IT IS POSSIBLE. here are a few tutorials of stretching exercises to be more flexible:
(key word here is "active flexibility", resarch this if yoga isn't very fun for you).
Anyways I hope that was somehow usefull and I fully know that this is not whatmrs c meant by "flexibility" but since i know nothing about sports and fitness, this was the occasion to learn new stuff!!

ps don't forget the yoga club on friday
