A cool website : doesthedogdie.com

Hello, this is an article I’ve wanted to write for quite some time but I didn’t, mostly because I’m lazy and procrastinating.

Here’s a website I found out about a few months ago: doesthedogdie.com

On this website, you can look for a movie/TV series/book and then check whether there are mentions of certain topics or themes which can be emotionally triggering for you. There are many different categories, such as “a dog die”,  “someone breaks a bone” or “the ending is not happy” (as it says on the homepage, there are 50+ categories, I won’t list them all).

Here's what it looks like when you look for a work (in this case, "Boyhood", one of my favorite movies if you still didn't know).

If you want, you can also contribute to the website, you just need to create an account and then you can add works that are not on it yet and you think could be useful to someone. You can also contribute to a work that’s already there by voting if yes or no there is a mention of something and, if you think it useful, add a description of the scene when it happens.

Of course, there are many spoilers but if there’s something you know is emotionally triggering to you, this website is a great source which can be useful to check before reading/watching something!

I hope you enjoyed my article and you’ll find the website useful!
