I decided to drop uni and become a pirate. Just kidding, I'm here to talk about a FANTASTIC band: Rumproof!
They're a fairly new hungarian pirate metal band. They started off with covers of Paddy and the Rats (a pirate band quite well known in Hungary) and Alestorm (a famous pirate metal scottish band covered here) but they now have an EP and an album out.
The album, called Rogues of the Seven Seas, came out on April 15th, and it is SO GOOD. I've been listening to it on repeat, and the one other Rumproof fan that I know has been doing that as well.
Sadly you can only find the main title on YouTube (and... I'm in the video!!), but it's on Spotify and iTunes.
Anyways here's the one song that's available on YouTube!
I'm somewhere in here... will you spot me?
Right, time for me to sail off to revise my stats (exam tomorrow... and here I am. I guess the habit of procrastinating by posting on here will never leave me).
See you around Charlie!

My work is remembered by some people... :').
ReplyDeleteI remember you saying that they also had great songs but in Hungarian... do you still have the title of those? ^^"
If you're referring to the song I was a huge fan of last year, the title is Kalozsziv. In this album there's 4 more songs in Hungarian: Kotyagos almok, Szittyos John, Ezusthid (this one is just as beautiful as Kalozsziv...), and Black Out.
ReplyDeleteIt was Kalozsziv, thanks!
DeleteOkay this band is awsome juste great!!!!
ReplyDeleteso as a metalhead i've never acutely listened to pirate metal, i knew about the genre and heard of Alestorm but i have never went on a pirate metal adventure. but i have to admit this a pretty good band i really like it
ReplyDeletewhat a good article ! i didn't know anything about this kind of music , i will listen to some . i have to say that you would be a great pirate ;) thank you for this interesting article !
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence! It is so funny because my uncle constantly listens to RumProof, and he always talks to me about it, but I never listened to it because it is not really my type of music hahaha
ReplyDeleteIt was International Talk Like a Pirate Day this week ! Aaaŕrrrrr!
