Compotes, the best thing in the universe

 Hi Charlie!

You might have noticed that I eat a lot of compote (I recently ate 555g so more than half a kilo of compote in a day, I might seem a little addicted) which is why my article will be about

I. Where do compotes come from?

The first historical references to compotes are Hindu and date from the first millennium BC. The first compote was made of apples and we had to wait 2500 years and multiple variants to theorize the recipe.

In 1420, the ancestor of compote bore the sweet name of “sweet apple porridge". The term compote refers to the time when fruits were cooked so as to retain their shape, unlike marmalade, in which they were crushed.

Today marmalade mainly refers to this bitter orange jam

II. The packages

Industrial compotes can come in a gourd, in a plastic pot, or in a glass jar. As in for home-made compotes well, it depends on the person's wish.

III. My top 3 favorite compote tastes

1. Apple compotes, the Original
2. Apple compote with mango pieces
3. Apple and rhubarb compote (even with fibers)

IV. A compote recipe

- Peel the apples (you can add any other fruit you like)
- Stew the fruits
- Add a little bit of water if the fruits are getting stuck to the bottom of the casserole
- Mix the fruits
- Add vanilla, cinnamon, or lemon juice (my favorite)
- Let it cool then enjoy the favorite food in the world!

V. Let me convince you that compotes are the greatest thing in the entire universe

Everybody likes compote, it's easy to eat, to transport, and it tastes great. If you want you can make them yourselves or you can buy them because that's more practical. You can find them with or without fruit pieces. You can make great recipes with compote you can even eat them with biscuits like speculoos!

That's the end of my article!
I hope I convinced you to eat more compote (maybe it's not a good idea because it will leave less for me but I guess I can sacrifice myself so you can enjoy compotes)

  1. Omg compotes are like my "Madeleine de Proust" I used to have them after school when I was in primary school ! The best part (after eating them of course) was the joke under it, that usually was really bad... I really liked your article and your devotion for compotes (and totally understand it)

  7. I totally agree with you, compotes are the best thing in the world ! I eat at least three compotes a week, they never disappoint. However, I don't like compotes that simply taste apple, I prefer all the original flavors: my favourite one is apple blueberry, it's really delicious !
