jason wu fashion show
if you are interested in fashion, you must know that during the past few weeks, the fashion week took place in the four fashion capitals of the world, Milan, Paris, New York and London.
I watched a lot of fashion shows this weekend and one particular caught my eyes. The Jason Wu ready-to-wear fall/winter 2022-2023 show with took place in New York City.
jason wu for the people who doesn't know him, is a Taiwanese and Canadian artist and fashion designer based in New York City. Born in Taiwan and raised in Vancouver, he studied fashion design at Parsons school of design, and trained under Narciso Rodriguez before launching his own line. he worked for several big celebrity like Michelle Obama.
The collection he present is inspired by fashion in the 50's with is on the spotlight at the moment with Demna's Balenciaga couture debut last July for example. But the real star of this show is the strapless moiré party dresses, one in marigold and in black.
they illustrated perfectly the glamour of those 50's illustration.
What I really liked about the creations of this show is first of all is the purity of it's pieces. Jason Wu doesn't really did extravagant creations and he stayed quite simple. Although all his pieces have an extra touch that sets them apart. For example on a piece that could have been a simple long black coat he exchange the simple smooth fabric with a quilted fabric to give it an original appearance while remaining chic and sober.
jason wu knows how to use small details to make big differences.
my favourite pieces of this show are:
I love the combination of the shape of the bustier and trouser and of the two black fabrics
I don't really have an explanation I just find it extremely pretty and majestic and the green is really popping
it's the perfect little black dress, it's chic and I think that the tule gives it something extra and more structured
finally the best for last, this dress is just incredible the details of the back make the dress unique and sublime, the and black threads mixed together stand out on the white background. This dress is simply beautiful, it's my favorite pieces of the show!

ReplyDeleteJason Wu always comes out with the most beautiful designs! I'm so glad somebody wrote an article about his fashion shows, one of my personal favorites is the 2014 "Ready-to-wear" fall, but I honestly love anything that he creates.
