Early 1900’s fashion linked to feminism
Women’s fashion is inevitably related to feminism. The fashion trends have changed over the years for women, because yes, we do not dress the same as women did in the 20th century.
So today I am going to speak about how the fashion evolved and how it was related to feminism.
In the 1900’, it was the suffragettes and a lot of women fought for their rights, but they also changed how they dressed. Having big uncomfortable dresses seemed unfair compared to men that wore more comfy outfits. So that was when Women started to wear blommerdresses. They were dresses that had sorts of pants under the dress, that was shorter than ordinary dresses.
But this wasn’t the only period where women decided to change their clothes because of equality.
In time of war, the 2nd war, 1939 1945, women started to wear trousers because their husbands weren’t at home so they had to do their jobs that were considered masculine. They had to have a confortable outfit to do mechanics.
This is an example of the trousers they wore.
