I’m writing here for the first time today and I’d like to tell you about one of my favourite TV shows: Spinning out!
In this TV show, we get to know Katarina, a talented ice skater who’s trying to recover from a serious skate accident. Because of her accident, Kat is afraid of getting hurt again and, that’s why she can’t skate alone anymore. So, she has two possibilities: either she quits, or she accepts to pair skate, something that she’s never experienced before. If you like artistic sports especially ice skating (obviously) you’re going to love this show. We can watch people dance, or more like fly on the ice with music, it’s absolutely fascinating and immersive!
We see how Kat and her pair skater Justin get along through the episodes and, how Kat deals with her trust issues (when it comes to being carried etc.). I particularly enjoy her relationship with her best friend Jen, it’s also complicated but so endearing!
What is really striking about this show is that we get to know the personal story of lots of characters. And we get really attached to all of them (Jen and Dasha are my favorite characters). Plus, it deals with many different topics at the same time. It’s about bipolar disorder, unhealthy competition between friends and siblings, sexual abuse in sport…
The final detail is probably going to be frustrating for lots of you but I’m sorry to tell you that spinning out is on Netflix. Maybe you could find it elsewhere but I’m not aware of that.
Anyway, go watch it now, it’s sooo good!!!

Always need more ice skating in our lives. also if you want a little bit more of ice skating but also your healthy dose of gay and great battles, i recommend the webtoon Blades of furry (yes there are furries but itss ffiiiiiiiinnnneeeee)
