Hey Charlie! Here is little blog about one of my favourite movie :)

Black Swan is a 2010 American psychological film directed by Darren Aronofsky. The main character is played by Natalie Portman who incarnates the role perfectly. It is surely one of the movies that marked me the most. It is beautiful in a very unique and terrifying way. The entire film is full of rebounds which will leave the public speechless.

Here is the plot that I hope will make you want to watch it ^-^:

Nina Sayers is a twenty eight woman who lives with her very overprotective mother. The relationship she has with her is introduced as toxic and unhealthy. In fact, everything she has in her life seems toxic, including her passion: dance. Nina dances in a professional famous company. Their season opens with the Swan Lake chosen by Thomas Leroy, a spectacular dancer who will select the best dancer to play both black and white Swan. Although Nina is said by Thomas to be perfect to incarnate the white swan, her lack of sensuality and aggressivity keeps her from dancing the black swan's part. Thomas will do everything in his power to make Nina an aggressive and seductive woman. Unfortunately, the pressure and obsession of reaching perfection on stage seems impossible for her. Between pressure, the threat of her friend Lili betraying her and replacing her on stage, Nina becomes extremely paranoiac reaching the point of hardly being able to distinguish reality from dream.

This film honestly frightened and confused me a little. It is so realistic which makes it even scarier. Anyone could relate to the problems exposed. It is hard to take our eyes from the actress. Her dancing is sublime and the final part is breathtaking, especially the emotions the characters send. Like I said, you can be confused watching it, which is kind of the whole point of the movie. The point is to make yourself ask a thousand questions wondering if you are even close to the truth when you probably aren't.

Feel free to leave a comment to tell me what you think :)

Fun fact did you know that Natalie Portman actually learned ballet just for this role ? She was not a professional dancer at all !
