Upcoming National Poetry Day: hooray!

Dear Charlie,
As you and all the OIB students know ,  I just LOOOOOOOOVE poetry.
UK's National Poetry Day is coming up next Thursday.
To celebrate it, I've prepared a special AP class with the Première students combining poetry and the art of coping with stress and pressure. Exciting, isn't it?
But I'd like to share this extraordinary day with more of you.
I invite you all to participate to the "poem/s in my pocket" initiative.
Choose a poem you particularly like , bring it to school and all day-long share it with your classmates, teachers, friends,  family, neighbors, anyone who might appreciate a moment of poetry.
Do not hesitate to also share a favorite poem of yours in a comment to this blog article.
Obviously, if you want to share a poem within the OIB context, the poem/s chosen is/are to be English-speaking but do not hesitate to also bring poems in any other language you may speak.
If you're not in 1ere and  do not get to see me on Thursday but  still want to share with me, I'll be in 307 during the morning break.
Poetically yours,
Mrs. C.

  1. Finally, I manage to post two poems I really like : there's Art poétique, from Paul Verlaine - sorry it's in French... - here are two links to read it : https://frama.link/artpoetique and https://frama.link/artpoetique2 and in English, there's also Praise Song for My Mother (https://frama.link/psfmm), that I particularly like.

  3. As I said in class , you've convinced me to look at poetry in a positive way and therefore I will share My favourite one which is " song : go catch and catch a falling star " by John Donne
To be honest , at first I didn't really
like it because I started analysingit which I regretted because I felt like it was a poem that could actually move me ( not that others don't ) but I stopped myself and tried to only read it for the feeling it gives me so that I can experience it . Even though it's about finding a faithful woman , I find it very light as it speaks about love and spirituality .

  4. Thank you for sharing this event, that I hope will take place this year. I want to share this poem written by Warsan Shire, « Home ». It particularly touched me because nowadays the immigration issue is very important. I guess poetry is a nice way to aware people of this sad reality.
