This summer, I'm indeed going to accomplish one of my dreams: going to the Hellfest. If you don't know this fabulous event, basically, it's an enormous music fest, only focused on metal. In fact, it is so big and well-known, that artists from all over the world come to play at the Hellfest. Some very very well known bands (as Megadeth or even Iron Maiden) even come to perform! This year, the best-known artists will be Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth, Marilyn Manson, Alice in Chains, Nightwish and many others!
This fest is also the occasion for small and talented artists as Exodus or Dimmu Borgir to be better known. In fact, a lot of metal listeners go to the Hellfest and stay near the small stages just to discover new bands.
Last year, the 12th edition was a particularly popular one: the Hellfest broke the records with near 220 000 people, 32,5 °C, 350 000L of beer drank, and 2000 tattoos in only 4 days.
As you've understood, I'm very excited about seeing all these fabulous artists. Even if you're not really into metal, I still invite you to listen to Alice in Chains or Avenged Sevenfold, because it's really nice, and not really the type of music most people expect to hear when told about metal (which by the way is more likely to be heavy metal).
Tell me, how did you manage to get tickets??

How come Alice in Chains are still going after the death of Layne Stanley? I thought he did everything for them. Is it a sort of tribute act now? They were often associated with the grunge movement at the time. Where does the festival take place ? Have a great time!

DeleteI'm not the greatest fan of Alice in Chains so I don't really know if it's a tribute or anything, but what I know is that the Hellfest often hosts some more "soft" groups, for example, last year there was Deep Purple playing on the main stage. And yes indeed, it's taking place in Clisson (near Nantes), and I sure will do!

I like every type of music, but I rarely listen to metal. However, it's very useful if you want to say goodbye at your bed, all those hard mornings. :p
I don't know all these groups, but some of them have an inspiring name, so I'm going to search their musics on YouTube, hoping I will find !
I have some questions for you : Did you stay several days ? ~~Did you drink beer ? lol~~
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the festival, and you danced and sang a lot !
