I Will Rock You! Episode 3 (Limp Bizkit)

Hello Charlie. Did you enjoy your holydays? Because I did!
Also: Happy Haloween everyone! :D

So on the last episode I saw this:

hmm..

This article is for you Amma ;)

In a first time I was thinking of talking about Linkin Park but I wanted something that sounds even more like rap. So ladies and gentlemen, today I bring you:

Limp Bizkit is a band of Nu Metal (or Neo Metal) created in the 90's in Jacksonville (Florida). I'll be honest: I don't know much about LB's history, but there's nothing really special about them. So let's go to the most important point, the music!

Limp Bizkit's formation has something interesting : we can see a DJ (DJ Lethal if my memory is good); even if nowadays there are some bands that use a turntable, LB really knows how to use it to sounds "rap". Also in some of their songs I didn't know if I was listening to a singer or a MC. And this is one of the most important point in LB's music: Even if the instruments are Metal, the voice really does his job and gives the impression to listening to rap. The alchemy here is juste perfect!

But I'll be honest, even if the music is good, I don't really like Limp Bizkit, I'm not an expert in rap but to me it sounds like 90's/20's rap... a kind of music that I don't particulary like. And this is a perfect transition for one thing: Limp Bizkit's controversy.

"But I don't understand, a band that can fusion two musical so diffrent so well... Why is it controversed?" Well Charlie, this is the point : I'm personally extremly "open" in term of music, but many metal heads are just disgusted by rap music. And it's not really wrong to say that Metal and Rap are 2 opposites in term of music and community. And Limp Bizkit was during a long time discriminated because they tried to unite these 2 community.

Now don't get me wrong, all metal heads weren't like that, many were happy of this fusion.

I'm going to conclude by some songs that I like... Buuuuuut, Bizkit can curse a lot in there songs, so here are 2 titles of songs that I can't really post:

Break Stuff (there are Snoop Dogg and Eminem in the clip ;))
Gold Cobra (yes... it's almost a parody of a rap clip)

So here comes the videos:

Rollin', I have to admit that this one has quite a catchy rhytme

My Way is calmer than the previous video, but is still good ;)

I hope you enjoyed this article. I tried to be as honest and objective. If you want me to talk about a special band or a style, be sure to tell me in the comment.
I think that next time I'll talk about an Appocalypse of 3 cellos ;).

See you guys soon, enjoy the last weekend of holydays (;_;), and have a good Halloween ^^.

It has been Kellian, and I'm out! \m/(>.<)\m/
