The Art of Getting By

Hi Charlie,

I've been wanting to talk about a movie for ages. It's called The Art of Getting By, it's by Gavin Wiesen, and as early as a few seconds into the movie, I was already so touched. Basically, the story is about Charlie Bucket George (Freddie Highmore), a senior year boy, who doesn't feel like he has a reason to live. OK, it looks super cheesy or super sad right now, but trust me, it's not. Instead, we see him undergoing the questionments we all face one day or the other, and getting over them by opening himself up to people (I didn't like that, because it felt like it was telling us "be social = be happy", but I guess it shows it can help, and it's what some people need. So I forgave the movie). It's very poetic and deals lightly with relationships and trust, and I recommand you try to watch it, even though it's a movie some people absolutely can't relate to, but it you are one of the people whom it will touch as it touched me, it should stay with you for quite some time.

Here's the trailer :

PS : I have it on DVD so if you want to you can borrow it ^^
