trip diaries: Athens ,Greece

 Hello Charlie, I recently went to Greece and I wanted to share with you guys my experience in a sort of "diary mode."

So today we are the th 16th of april .We are in the plane my mom is sitting next to the window ;i am jealous of her spot.she is wearing headphones listening to Amy Winhouse.Next to her is sitting my dad who is reading a book.Next to him ,i am sitting ,wondering what athens must look like:perfect wite buildings,blue windows.old ladies watering their beautiful plants.Their cats standing next to them.Everyone is relaxed,old people are eating tzasaky together,the sun is hitting on the streets.

I suddenly am disturbed imagining this town when my brother sitting next to me is asking me if I have some food.Since I don't he puts his headphones on his ears to listen to some rap.We are lending in 30 minutes. I am excited.

When we  arrive at the airport a taxi is there to pick us up ,it's the first time of my life i am in a taxi i feel like a star.During the ride I discovered the downtown of Athens,the streets are dirty,people are riding their scooters,without helmets but with their kid in the back.Others are walking with their small plastic bag filled with cheat food.Cars clasonate with each other .A scooter pasts right next to the car ;our driver starts to insult him.The building dont seem sturdy.Most of them are white like I had imagined but they are tagged ,smutty ,very high almost too high.They look cheap,it looks like they have been build urgently.

The car stops in the middle of the streets and the driver says we have arrived at our airbnb ;we need to get out of the car fast because the cars behind us are stopped because of us.

We arrive in the apartment, it ‘s very clean;modern,colorful, and very western european. It belongs to a British woman.

Its 18h and we are hungry ,so we go eat a good girros with a lot of zenski.We have a couple difficulties ordering but ,we menage.

The next morning we hit the subway to go visit the acropole,I know it’s very original!

Our subway station is surrounded by drugged and alcoholised people .We get in the subway people are all wearing their mask over their nose.Mine isn’t perfectly placed so the people around me start looking at me.

we arrive at the acrople. It's really beautiful ,elegent.we're hot.We realize afterwards that it would have been better with a guide but we try to learn everything we can.

We eat at kebab for lunch.Afterward we go at the acropole,it's also beautiful and interesting,for some reason i feel like it's less touristy.They are a lot of beautiful flowers and vegetation ,trees fruits.I almost feel like it's some sort of parc.We even saw a little turtle.

We dined at home. We made a greek salad with some cucumbers ,feta cheese and tomatoes.

The next day we went to an  island named Egine .In the morning we were basically lost in the little town,so all we really did was go back in fourth in the same streets to figure out where to go even if we didn't want to go to the same places.(we also argued…) The streets were like the one I had imagines;small black and blue ;with old people.But to be completely honest this island felt a little fake,the the stores are only designed for tourist,i lacks of authenticity and real,or perhaps the made it too athentics.It is very beautiful and you  feel in vacation when you are there.

A lot of big touristic cruises,mosley american ones drop the tourist on the island they can go one a swim in the little beeches or ride abike to dicoer the island or go  buy some stuff and after that they go back in the boat.We ate in a really small local restaurant.They only cooked fish i took some sardines with fries,it was really good.

The next day we went to Delph,the ride lasted 4 hours(.In a bus filled with people and 0 personal space.)We visited Appolon’s sanctuary ,it was touritic but since it was in pretty good state ,it was easy to imagine what they did before and how the pace was used.I really appreciated that visit. My parents didn't want to eat,the wanted to go to the museum ,so while they did that we went to eat and after we joined them.I loved the jewelry that was there ,i envied the greek women.I also loved the front of the temples.

The next day we went to the National Museum of Athens.In that mesum what i prefered was the stels the statues and the jewelry .Its amazing how precise and elegant each piece is.

The next morning we went to the local shopping market .We were surrounded by gigantic pieces of meat on each side,in the fish area andi couldn't bare the smell.

After that we got lost in the subway and then some guy went to help us ;that was so nice.We arrived a t the national parc,I enjoyed the big oranges trees lined up and the blue little flowers.after that we went to go eat it was funny because a server served us some water like to serve champagne,i was uncomfortable.After that wonderful meal we went in a small medium on mechanics of the old grec monuments.I didn't understand everything but the museum was very original.

The next day we went to the SNCC in athens.a very rich guy created a very big surace with  a parc , a library, cateria a place to work and some bikes to do a tour.The architecture was preeti=y original and we had a nice time,you can take some nice pictures when you go there.we ate in the parc.Next to us a guy was taking care of the vegetables the charity was growing.

The next day we went to the airport;it was time to return back home.We waited for quite a long time,i couldn't listen to any music because I had forgotten my ear plugs.
