What a beautiful speech. I realised while watching it that I was never told about the colonial past of France at school. I mean only about how they got their independence. I never heard about the history of Vietnam, Louisiana, Québec and, of course, about how European great powers decided to share Africa. We were only told about French metropolitan history because they think it matters more...
