These channels are gems!

Hi Charlie!

As you may have noticed, all of the articles I wrote until now are about music etc...Well it seems like this one is also about this topic hehe! ^w^

You probably already know that I'm a huge fan of k-pop, but I tend to like more and more K-Indie/K-Rock (and all of of the other "genre") these days and I wanted to share some with you!
You should distinguish K-pop and the other "kind" of  K-pop, which are often seen as the same thing: generally K-pop bands such as EXO or else are completely commercial, and their main fans are elementary school/highschool students (and of course now, international people as well), meanwhile the other "K-Pop" artists are less known by  K-pop fans, but they are truly a thing for "normal" korean citizens (I hope you understood something.. owo)

ANYWAY, so around three months ago I've discovered two youtube channels which are uploading unknown korean songs; generally these are from little artists of soundclound so I didn't know most of them but I can tell you that these channels are gems! I'm going to show them to you, and also make you discover two songs of each channel.

I hope that you will like these songs, if you don't, don't hesitate to go on the channels I've told you about, once you go on their "playlist" section, you will notice few ones such as "K-Rap", etc... So you will be able to find songs which might be for your taste!

Goodbye and let's hope that my next article won't be related to always the same things TwT

  1. Your obssession on K-Pop reminds me of last year when I wrote tons of article about metal x) I'm still not a big fan but I do understand that this genre can find a fan-base in France.

But let me just ask a question: you said at the beggining of your article that bands such as EXO are "just commercial"... Isn't it the essence of pop music?

    1. Uhuh I promise I will find other topics!
I'm sure I didn't explain well hehe but I meant that Kpop can be seen as two different things: either Korean music in general(which is a mix of every "genre") or like the real K-pop (with kpop bands, their performances on live brodcast, their goodies etc...). So when I mentionned EXO as commercial k-pop, I meant that unlike unknown artists of "Kpop", there is a whole business around them, with their goodies, the posters, and even a business around their looks.
I still dont know if you got my point >.<

    2. Yup I think I get it.
Just a dumb idea: you should write an article about a metal band and me about a k-pop band.

You should see some of "JREKML"'s reaction videos, it will make you discover a lot of Kpop artists!

  2. Well, I am not a heavy listener of K-POP but it is very interesting to discover songs that are less "commercial". I will make sure to listen to more of these !

  5. I never listened to K-pop before, because all these boys/girls bands we see everywhere seem TOO mainstream but with these channels I think I'm going to enjoy it more ! I already listened to two of the songs you put in your article and started to listen to other ones from the "We love K-pop" channel and I really like them !

    1. Yeah I totally see what you mean, I kinda feel the same these days, like I tend to listen to k-indie/k-rock much more than k-pop but I still check on my faves anyways haha!
Thanks for your comment, I'm probably going to write another article on "underground k-music" so stay tuned!!
