Exhibition " Voyage à travers
la peinture, la pensée"
On
the twelfth of November all 2nd 11 went to the Centre
International de Poésie Marseille and
there we visited an exhibition of Manuel Casimiro, a
Portuguese painter, sculptor, designer and film director. He
lived a long time in Nice and one day when he was by friends in
Marseille he ran out off support to draw on so he painted on the
covers of “les cahiers du refuge” a magazine edited by the
Centre International de Poésie
Marseille. The paintings presented are
full of bright colors, with golden numbers and small quotes printed
on the original covers, placed and lighted
in a very special way in order to give to the visitor a strange and
undefinable message. On all the artworks we
can find a very particular egg-shaped symbol that is the mark of
Manuel Casimiro. Sometimes we can find a link between the visuals of
the painting and the quote like for one of a bright, violent and
bloody red with a title “scandaleuse et feconde”
People
interested in seeing exhibition can see it a the Vielle Charité in
the panier until the 23 January.
I still have time to see it!
