During the holidays I've watched a film that is called Hidden Figures. The story is about a team of African-American women that worked for NASA during the 60s and that served a major role in it. Indeed, they help in the Space Race during the Cold War. I found this film very interesting because we see how they evolve in a context of segregation and how they contribute to the expansion of the US sphere of influence. Moreover, the casting is really good according to me (:
The story is based on real facts, and got out in theaters just today in France : the title is Les Figures Cachées. I hope you'll enjoy it !

The oscars this year looked good honestly. I've only seen Lala Land, this one is the second on my list (I should also watch Lion...)
ReplyDeleteOh I watched this movie with Amandine and It was really good, I recommend it! The beautiful message of equality of color and gender is sent by this film alternating important difficult life moments but also many comical moments.

ReplyDeleteYes you're right! The casting is really good and it's a very good movie based on true on real facts, well worth seeing. And also I was cheering because the ladies were given a chance to show their intellect.
ReplyDeleteTHIS MOVIE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! It is just so cool and showing the stupidity of sexism and segregation! My favorite sentence was (I'm sorry but it's in French. BUT I MUST say it): "A la Nasa, on pisse tous de la même couleur".
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this movie but I have watched all of it's trailles and want to see it so badly ! I know that it sin't in the theaters anymore but I Will find a way to watch it ! I think that it is very important to talk about black people in America espacially with what is happening over there.
