politics, in conversations, in ads, they are very important. It is fascinating how people analyze the human mind and sometimes invent techniques to manipulate them.
In
politics and conversations :
Politicians
need to be good in argumentation. They must convince people that what
they say is true or the best option even when they lie or don't have
actual arguments. Because of that, a lot of them use techniques to
always be right. « The art of being right » is a famous
book from Arthur Schopenhauer a german philosoph which lists all
these techniques.You

Sometimes
to avoid a subject, politicians will try to talk about it and answer
questions without really saying anything which has meaning. You can

it is to do this.
In
ads :
There
are a lot of techniques of manipulation in ads to make a customer buy
a product. A famous one is to use fear. Indeed, through
an advertising for the Road Safety
Campaign (for example), the person watching will understand the
dangerosity of driving and right after watching this, a car ad will
be showed to give you a solution against this fear.
Showing
an ad for a product and then showing it again in your show is another
technique which influence your mind by making you remember it
unconsciously.
