RICHARD III :)

Hello !

It’s a very brief article but I wanted to write it anyway ^^

Today we talked about "Richard III" and Mr Leah told us it was good if we could watch it. So…. Well. ^^

Last year I watched “Richard III” on TV which was directed by Thomas Ostermeier. The play is in German (with subtitles, of course). Yes, not English, I know ^^ But it was really great. I was exhausted but I watched it until the end (proof it was great. Or I really would have fallen asleep :D ). It is quite long (about 2h35) and I think it can really help. The greatest quotes (the most popular ones) are still in English. Well I don’t know I thought it might be useful ^^

Here is it :

Part 3:

If you can, watch it. It is soooo great. :)

Hope you liked it (and we're all thinking of the Terminales <3)

Bye ^^

Shakespeare and Kanye West

You (strangely) don't know what to listen to.
You (obviously) want to know more about US geography.
You (definitely) want to compare Herman Melville and 50 Cent.

Here's for you an all-in-one music/geography/vocabulary infographic!

Drama Club and Macbeth

©1995-2006 by Paul Dlugokencky, aDailyCartoon.com (all rights reserved)

Dear Charlie,
Have you noticed that this coming Monday is the last Monday of the month so as usual it's time for drama club fun!
This time, we'll be playing games but  I believe we'll also have a go at Macbeth.
Am I serious?
Does it sound a. daunting? b. boring? c. amazing?  d. confusing? e. all of these?
Come and give it a try!

BEWARE! THE FIRST MEETING OF THE SCIENCE CLUB TAKES PLACE ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16 SO TO GIVE YOU ALL A CHANCE TO ATTEND,WE’LL POSTPONE THE NEXT DRAMA CLUB MEETING TO MARCH 9 AND WE’LL ALSO HOLD A MEETING AS USUAL AT THE END OF THE MONTH ON MARCH 30.  MAKE SURE YOU WRITE IT DOWN IN YOUR AGENDAS.

THAT MEANS TWICE AS MUCH DRAMA FUN IN MARCH!

Speaking of Macbeth, there's a play about Macbeth, Je serai Macbeth,  at the next door Friche de la Belle de Mai during the second week of the holidays.

It seems to  be worth your while, even if it is in French ;p
It is not a representation of Macbeth per se but appears to be presenting original points of view and perspectives on the play.
From what I understood, it  reflects on what the staging of a play means. The staging of a play is very important and tends to be overlooked by students when they study drama which is quite a shame .I think you could  get valuable and insightful food for thoughts.
Finally, it seems quite fun and funny and students tend to forget that Shakespeare can be actually fun and often funny. HE IS!!!

I won't be able to go but I wish I could and I hope you or some of the OIB students or teachers will and tell us about it.
Keep me posted
