Damn Daniel

Hello
It's me

It's been a while since we haven't talked! I wanted to talk to you about the "Damn Daniel" thing that spread everywhere. I'm not just going to talk about this trend, that would beway  too easy for a article, I'm actually going to take it as an example to show how crazy the internet can be.
In less than 24hours, the whole world had seen this compilation of a guy saying "Damn Daniel" over and over to his friend, Daniel. In case some people SOMEHOW, managed to not see this video, (maybe you live in a forest, or didn't have internet until now), it is attached right here.
So, this is a simple story, but it became so famous, that the two friends were invited onto the Ellen Show (which is a huge thing) and Vans even gave Daniel a lifetime supply of shoes, crazy.
Taking this trend as an example was a personal choice (it's quite funny, and also recent) but I could have taken a million others...
All this to prove my following point: internet can be a good thing and very useful, but it can also be dangerous in the way that if you post something it can be spread at an incredibly fast speed, and it can sometimes backfire on you.
I'm not saying nobody should post personal stuff on the web, I am myself part of this generation that shares everything they're doing on Snapchat, Instagram and other social medias, but I am stressing the fact that we have to be aware of the consequences this connectivity can have. Internet harrasment is of course also linked to this topic; sometimes something, a text, a picture, is put on the web and it can be spread very quickly and have bad consequences on a person. We know some people, (often teenagers...) committed suicide because they were virtually harrassed, and I once again want to stress how important it is to judge well before posting/sharing something.
I could go on forever about the power of Internet, the pros and cons, but of course I'm always going to be on the side that says Internet is essential; I grew up with it, our children will too, and it does have major pros, but I am also fully aware of the danger it can also  represent.
Hope you liked this weird article that doesn't reaaally make sense haha, talk to you soo Charlie!

  2. Damn Internet, back at it again with the viral video :P
Even though it's a funny video, it is pretty crazy. I completely agree with the fact that the Internet can be very dangerous, this is why we should all be very careful with what we post on social medias. It's horrible to know many people commit suicide because of that, like Amanda Todd for example..
Anyway, thank you for your article, I really enjoyed it

    1. Yes, Amanda Todd... What a sad story... It's a shame that there's this negative aspect because otherwise Internet's pretty cool haha
But I guess nothing can be perfect!
      Thanks :)
