Professor Layton

 Hi Charlie,

    Today I'll present you another video game! This one is a saga called Professor Layton! I want to present this game since it's one of my first and my mom was the one who introduced me to it. As of 2024 there is a total of 9 games and a collaboration one with Ace Attorney series. Theses can be played on many devices such as : the Switch, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS and mobile. In the game you have solve multiple puzzles while enjoying the story. 

    The puzzles are very fun to do and are very creative. There are usually more than 100 to do! They can go from very easy to pretty hard sometimes. The game franchise also have amazing OST that you can listen to! Since each game have a different story I cannot make a summary but they all form a long story separated in different game that are not in chronological order. However there are three main character who are often found in the story:

Professor Hershel Layton :

    He is primarily the protagonist and the most recognizable character. He is an archaeology professor in an University in London however he is well known due to his puzzle solving capacities. He is also the teacher of Luke Triton. He always wear a top hat, a black coat and paint and an orange shirt. He is always calm and nice and often depicted as a gentlemen by various characters. 

Luke Triton :

He is the deuteragonist of the saga. He is the son of Professor Layton's friend and is following him since the first case they solved together. He then later self proclaimed himself as Layton's apprentice. He is a smart and joyful pre-teenager who enjoys doing puzzles and resolving them hence the interest he had to meet Layton for the first time in “Professor Layton and the Specter's Call” to aid in the mysterious monster case. He always wear a blue cap and white shirt but changed outfits throughout the games but always wears a blue outfit.

Emmeline "Emmy" Altava :

    She is the tritagonist and appears less than the previous two but she is still an important character. She was the assistant of professor Layton up until “Professor Layton and the Curious Village”. She is a strong willed women who enjoys photography and often takes pictures in the cases. She wears a yellow trench coat white pants and shirt.  

    If you enjoy puzzle games I strongly recommend that you give a try to one of the games! Even the scenery has it's own charm! And here are examples of the puzzles you can get :
