Loud

Hello Charlie !

Today for my first article I'm going to talk about music ! The artist I'm going to talk about is Loud. He is a Quebecois rapper from Montreal.

 

 

 He started music in 2011 with his friends Lary Kidd, who's also a rapper, and Ajust, a beatmaker and producer. Their group's name is "Loud Lary Ajust" (often shortened as "LLA"). They made 4 albums and EPs together. In 2016 they split up so every member could concentrate on personal projects.

 So, since 2016 (and even before I think) Loud works on personal projects. This year, in April 28th, he posted a videoclip for his new song "56k" and his whole four tracks new EP called "New Phone". I discovered him last summer with this EP, and "56k" is still one of my favorite songs he made.

Recently, on October 16th, he published a new video clip for a new song called "Hell, what a view". At the end of the videoclip he announces his new album "Une année record" that was supposed to be out on November 10th (you´ll understand later why I wrote "supposed").

Then on October 27th he posted another new song, "Nouveaux Riches", with a videoclip. In this videoclip there are many references to LLA and "New Phone". I discovered after I watching it that his album was already out on streaming platforms (Spotify, Deezer...) so his fans could listen to it and know the songs before his tour. It was out in physical in November 10th.

You might have understood that with the title of this last song or by listening to him, Loud raps in French, but not the French we speak in France, a quebecois French ! He uses a lot of english words or sentences and plays a lot with these two languages, and that's very interesting ! Plus, he has a quebecois accent. At the beginning, you might find it weird or not like it, but then you'll get use to it, and it adds charm to his music !

I listened to "Une année record" and found it really good and liked (if not even loved) every song ! If you listen to it, feel free to tell me what you thought about it !
