Hey guys !
Today I want to talk to you about a beautiful museum I had
the opportunity to discover this summer : the Guggenheim Museum of New
York !
This summer I had the chance to go to one of the most
incredible city in the world, The Big Apple ! I had a lot of fun and
discovered beautiful places that I want to share with you guys. The Guggenheim
Museum is one of them ! The Guggenheim Museum of New York (Solomon R.
Guggenheim Museum to be precise !) is located in Manhattan, near Central
Park (pretty good spot I must say !) and is the permanant home of a
beautiful collection of Impressionist, early Modern and contemporary art.
Before going into details about the amazing paintings I had
the opportunity to see let me just focus this article on the architecture of
this museum. The spiral design of this museum changes the presentation of the
works of art. This museum really is different from the museums I’ve seen
before when it comes to the way the paintings are exhibited.
Many famous artists have some of their work exhibited in the Guggenheim Museum of New York such as Picasso, Van Gogh, Pissaro, Paul Klee, Cezanne, Renoir, Chagall and many others !
My favorite painting in this museum is this one. It’s one of
Modigliani best known painting.
I hope you liked my article (if it’s the case don’t forget
to comment below) !
See you soon ;)
Esther
Oh that looks like a great museum. I went to New York this summer too but I didn't get the chance to go to this museum. I didn't even see it. It would've been a great picture.
ReplyDeleteIt's that time of the year when everyone is going to post articles about their holidays (I'm looking forward to the seconde's articles).
ReplyDeleteReally nice though, I like that spiral shape, I really think the architecture of museum plays a big part in our perceptions of the works of art there!
(You might want to check the title of the article)
Do you think that the way the paintings are exhibited in a spiral building make them look better? I personally love when the paintings are placed on a white wall, I think it highlights the work. You're a such a lucky girl, you were able to see most of the famous pieces of art, or may I say, the legendary pieces of art!
ReplyDeleteOh, this looks beautiful! I really enjoy the architecture of the building, I think it is truly unique and it seems to be a great place to represent its woks. I hope you had (you must in fact) an excellent trip to New York!
ReplyDeletewell i'm not a big fan of museums. i mean the art museums, because i didn't have the chance to visit them a lot but from what i've seen, it's not somewhere i would really love to go to. i'm just not that interested in paintings, but the architecture seems really great and original, i like it.
ReplyDeleteI think it's beautiful indeed
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your story and for showing us the pictures of this museum which looks indeed incredible by its architecture and the way paints are exhibited. The museum itself remembers me of Dali's art, because it is always "out of the way" and very authentic (of course it is not the same thing at all, not the same time I suppose) If I ever go to NY, I'll surely stop by.
ReplyDeleteI have been there with my family a few years ago, and I enjoyed it as much as you did! To be honest, I wish I could go back now so I could appreciate the paintings fully, since I was too little to realize what I was looking at, at the time.. The Modigliani painting is beautiful by the way!
ReplyDeleteI have been to this museum last month and it was truely unbelievable: there are masterpieces everywhere. It is so interesting to see the painting in real life knowing that you've discovered them all in books.
ReplyDeleteThis museum is truely amazing: there are masterpieces eveywhere. And it is also funny to see all this paintings in real life knowing that you've already seen it in books.
ReplyDeleteWow this place looks like heaven. I'm in love with it's architecture. Since museum are probably the places I love the most it's always awesome to find out about ones I don't know!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to the Guggenheim Museum but I have heard so many good things on it ! It is for me, one of the most beautiful museum and the architecture is extraordinary ! I would love to go in such an out of the ordinary museum even though I do not like museums.
ReplyDeleteI'll go there if I ever go to NY
ReplyDeleteThe question is whether the most important thing in a museum is the achitecture or the pieces of art exhibited ? I personnally give priority to the latter. Recently I have been to the Art Gallery Museum in London, it wasn't as spectacular as the Guggenheim Museum from the architectural point of view but it was really amazing in terms of the variety and beauty of the paintings exhibited
ReplyDeleteWow ! What a chance you had to go to New York first of all ! I hope you enjoyed your journey , I would love to go to The Big Apple , this city looks like so much fun.
ReplyDeleteAbout the museum , It seems really interesting for the museum lover that I am , hope that I will have the chance to visit it sooner or later !
xoxo , Abdel
Absolutely love it! The ceiling inside the museum reminds me of a huge shell! I like as well the expressionists as Van Gogh, I also went to a museum in Moscow this summer where there was a lot of work from Cézanne, Picasso, Gaugin and many others even though the museum itslef wasn't so astonishing as the Guggheim one.

I would like to go to US. One day if I come to New York you can be sure I will go at least to the museum's location to at the building because it looks pretty on the photos and as you noticed the spot is quite perfect.
ReplyDeleteTHAT LOOKS AMAZING
ReplyDeleteI'm just a big fan of architecture. I hope one day I'll be able to go there.
Wow you're really lucky, I'd love to go to New York someday! If I do I'd visit Guggenheim museum for sure. I love the architecture and it just looks great!
ReplyDeleteI've been to NYC multiple times but I've never had the chance to go to the Guggenheim. I think the architecture is simply amazing and your pictures really show how interesting the structure of the museum is. Reading your article makes me want to go even more. :)
ReplyDeleteIf I have the chance to go to NYC someday, I will definitely visit that museum! I really like modigliani's paintings and I'd love to see some of his work with my own eyes!
ReplyDeleteGreat article :)
A quick line because you're swamped with comments. Thank you Esther for presenting this wonderful museum. Mrs. C
ReplyDeleteThis museum looks amazing and the architecture is very original. I've never been to NYC city and I hope one day I will. Thanks to your article I'll probably stop by and look at these beautiful paintings.
ReplyDeleteNormally I don't really like museums but this one particularly makes me want to know more and even to visit it.
ReplyDeleteWoow, it makes me wanna travel, and visit museums !! Thank you for your article it's always nice to hear from everyones experiences and thoughts. However, when I went to NYC, to me the best museum was the Met, for the beautiful view it gives on Central Park.
ReplyDeleteI already loved New-York you just gave me another reason to ! Amazing !
ReplyDeleteWow! I love this building's architecture! I have never been to the Big Apple and I really wish I'll be able to one day!
ReplyDeleteI did not know that many very famous artists like those had some of their works exposed in this musem...
That building architecture is very nice and clever because I think that to be really able to appreciate a painting, or an artwork, they must be presented in a good environment. In other words, I mean they must be in a musem where the works are not on top of each other, in order to make them appear more like unique. And, considering what I've seen on your pictures, it is the case here.
But is the museum only made of this 'spiral' part? Because I think it would be a bit small... But I may be saying a mistake...
And... Great pictures!, especially the second one.
