I haven't written in a long time. So today I am going to talk about my amazing trip to New York this summer (Sorry for the delay). New York is one of my favorite cities (with San Francisco). It is so lively and colorful, it's just splendid. I went there when I was 8 which is quite a long time ago and I didn't remember much from from it. But the one thing I knew was that I loved it and that I had to go back when I would be older. So last year I convinced my parents to let me go there this summer with my boyfriend. It was the first time that I travelled internationally with only my boyfriend. I wasn't too excited for the plane ride but it went fine even though it took us 15 hours to get there.
We arrived there at night and seeing all the city lights, I just knew I was going to have the best 10 days of my life. Our hotel was 5 minutes away from Times Square which was perfect.
So the first day, we walked and walked and walked and visited almost everything. We went to Times Square, Wall Street, 9/11 Memorial, Brooklyn Bridge, High line and Herald Square. We were just dead at the end.
The next day we went to the statue of Liberty. The view was just stunning. And we went to the top of the rock. These two places had the best views of New York that's for sure.
We were also extremely lucky to have a beautiful weather.
Like most tourists we went to go see a musical on Broadway. When I was 8 we went to go see The Lyon King, and I had such a good memory of it that I had to go see another. This time we chose to go see A Bronx Tale. It was really good. It was the story of a small neighbor hood and one white young men falls in love with a black women which was badly in their period of time. And adding to the love story there is the story of the Mafia which brings a bit of action and suspense. If you ever get the chance to go, I highly recommend it. And just to say even my boyfriend loved it even though he hates musicals so if that's not a recommendation...
Even if we walked a lot, we ate a lot too. We tasted all of New York's best burgers. So after all I got fatter but what ever, eating is life.
We also did the NBC studios tour. Unfortunately, Jimmy Fallon was on vacation so we didn't get the chance to see his show which would've been a dream come true. However, we went to go see his studio as well as the studio of SNL which were both surprisingly very small.
And I can't forget the best place to go shopping which is Woodberry Outlet just one hour away from New York. Everything over there is so cheap compared to the regular store prices, it was incredible.
So I have to say that going to New York with just my boyfriend was a DREAM COME TRUE.
Thank you Fanny for this beautiful and emotional postcard. It's brought me back to NYC, a city I also love and discovered on my own for the first time when I was 18.
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing your trip to new york, it must have been unforgettable. New york seem to be a incredibly rich city (culturally) and i look for going there a soon as possible because i'm afraid that covid will start again and it's a city that i want to visit for a long time. I also think that it's really cool that you had the possibility and the opportunity to go there with only your boyfreind. I bet that you did things that you wouldn't have had the possibility to do with your parents like going for a day of shopping (my parents hate that, i could have never done it with them). And i also wanted to say that i liked the way you tell your trip, it's well writen.
ReplyDeletegood night !
