Interviews about the movie "En Tierra Extrana"

Hey Charlie, it's been a while since I talked to you.. Nathan told you about the movie we have seen in Spanish about the Spanish migrating to Scotland. Therefore I decided to interrogate my nice comrades who went to see the movie and ask them what they thought of it.

I started with Luna Ruso, she is in terminale ES bachibac.

- "CineHorizonte" did you go to the festival to see any other movies than that one ?

- what did you think of the documentary ? Tu as pensé quoi du documentaire ?
I thought it was a bit long but interesting. I discovered a truth that I did not wanted to see. I would like to study in Spain, and live there but know I don't really know. What stroked me the most was the game with the gloves, i found it interesting, and it showed the real situation of the migrants far from their home country.

- Did it surprise you you to see an other kind of migration than what we are used to (poor country going to rich country) ?
I did not think it was that bad. I knew there was a crisis in Spain, but not like this. personally I wouldn't go to Scotland if I had to leave my country.

Then Tiphaine Fradin, which you personally know Charlie

- "CineHorizonte" did you go to the festival to see any other movies than that one ?
No I only went to see this one because I wasn't aware this festival actually existed

- what did you think of the documentary ? Tu as pensé quoi du documentaire ?
I thought it was very well done, it really made me understand how migrants from Spain that moved to Scotland actually felt, and why they did it. I could really feel their pain and imagine what it must have felt like to leave a part of their identity behind them because they had no other choice, and to try to integrate themselves in a foreign country, of which they don't even speak the language.

- Did it surprise you you to see an other kind of migration than what we are used to (poor country going to rich country) ?
Indeed I was a bit surprised because although it's going through a major economic crisis, Spain is not considered as a poor country. I knew that some spanish had to move abroad but I didn't know the living conditions and wages were so low, and the unemployment rate so high.

Then Thomas Goirand who is in Terminale ES bachibac

- "CineHorizonte" did you go to the festival to see any other movies than that one ?
No, at least not this year.

- what did you think of the documentary ? Tu as pensé quoi du documentaire ?

- Did it surprise you you to see an other kind of migration than what we are used to (poor country going to rich country) ?

And finally Loic, which you already knows

- "CineHorizonte" did you go to the festival to see any other movies than that one ?
no

- what did you think of the documentary ? Tu as pensé quoi du documentaire ?
Intersting but too repetitive and boring

- Did it surprise you you to see an other kind of migration than what we are used to (poor country going to rich country) ?
yes it did

Whoaaa how convincing Loic !! I therefore forced him to answer the questions properly:

- "CineHorizonte" did you go to the festival to see any other movies than that one ?
no

- what did you think of the documentary ? Tu as pensé quoi du documentaire ?
I thought that the movie was exploring a very interesting topic in a most unusual which made it both original and captivating. Although in the end it became a bit too repetitive and long to me.

- Did it surprise you you to see an other kind of migration than what we are used to (poor country going to rich country) ?
Yes it surprised me to see such a migration patterns as I am not used to seeing people from MEDC go to another MEDC for unemployment reasons. On the other hand, I saw it as normal for the Spanish to organises themselves and help each other in Scotland.

Bye bye now Charlie
