The Benefits of Swearing

The Benefits of $#*@!§%&

Many studies have shown that swearing (also known as cussing or cursing) although it is frowned upon, can have unexpected benefits, such as pain relief, helping people feel more empowered, and boosting self-esteem. It can enable non-violent retribution and lets you vent some steam.
It is also used as humour and to lighten a potentially threatening or unpleasent situation. It has its uses in society also, as a way to bond with a certain group and show that we are totally at ease with the members of said group. If done in an timely and appropriated fashion, it can show that the person in question is open, honest, self-deprecating, and easygoing.
Swearing is also a way to show that something is important or has a special meaning to oneself, which is one of the reasons cussing is so often used in the world of sports!
Cussing is even good for you! It can help you achieve a better sense of control, calm and well being! That is, of course, if you do it sparingly and without getting mad and being terribly vulgar.
That's about it, I hope this was a good read and if you yourself come up with ways swearing might be beneficial, then, by all means please leave a comment below!

  1. I actually read something else about the fact that cursing can avoid depression. I guess, it is true because it is a (bad or not) say to express yourself.
