How have The Beatles changed forever the music ?

You all know about The Beatles. They are probably the most iconic band of all time. And instead of doing a classic presentation of the group, I will focus on the indelible trace they let on music. I think it's the clearest way of seeing if a band is HISTORICAL...or not.

 

The Beatles, a figure of peace and hope

 

The social involvement of The Beatles is not a secret for anybody. Whether it is on their songs or outside, its members never hesitated to convey strong messages of joy and peace, wanting a world where everybody would live together. Their engagement for the pacific cause has by the way brought them some trouble with the American Government, during the Cold War.

They have proved to the world that music is a big party, inviting all of us to join in and enjoy together, without distinction.

 

 

The birth of one of the biggest fandom of all time:

The Beatlemania

Beatles are more than 4 nice guys in costume, they are the symbol that have inspired a whole generation...and perhaps more. Except Presley few years before, it was the first time musicians get so much enthusiasm. It's more than "enthusiasm", it is a big wave that breaks all the codes on its passage !

They also have popularised concerts in big stadiums (Shea Stadium (NYC), Wembley (London)), which was totally new back then. In each of their concerts, the Beatles' public was on fire, giving so much energy to the group. I particularly recommand the Shea Stadium concert (biggest rock concert of history back then, with 50 000 people), or the Washington Coliseum. 

The masters of innovation

It is impossible to define Beatles' music. What kind of music do they play ? I think the answer is ALL. Rock n' Roll ? Psychedelic Rock ? Jazz ? Indian music ??? They've touched at literally everything.

The Beatles have perfected the art to combine different cultures in one song (which I think represents them pretty well as people also). When you listen very carefully, you can catch little elements of all their trip in all their songs, bringing back with them the country's music.

 

The Beatles are a monument of culture, not only music. They have marked the history of music so hard, we could even maybe talk about a "Before and After Beatles" !!!
