Today, Alberta and I are going to write an article about one of the best guitarist ever, Eric Clapton !
Illegitimate son from a 16 years old mother, and a canadian officer, he was born in 1945 in Ripley, in England.
His music was influenced by a few bluesman, such as Big Bill Broonzy, Robert Johnson.
His first band was the Roosters (1963), then he joined The Yardbirds. He left the Yardbirds in 1963, and was replaced by Jeff Beck in 1965.
He became famous with The Bluebreakers in july 1966. Since this day, he's known as one of the best guitarist in the world!
After leaving this band he played with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, in a band called Cream, nicknamed "the power trio"
In 1968, the band splits, and he starts his solo career. He played for The Beatles, George Harrisson, the Rolling Stones, John Lennon himself....
He is also called Slowhand, nickname given by the Yardbirds' manager, Giorgio Gomelsky
He has written a lot of albums, such as Slowhand, Rush, Riding With The King...
He also has an Unplugged album, which is absolutely amazing.
Here are some of his best songs, according to us :
Change The World (Unplugged version).
A very motivating song ! You should listen to it before going to school !
Layla (Unplugged version)
What a lovely song ! He wrote it for George Harrison's wife. Harrisson wrote her another song (Something) a year before, but she left Harrisson for Eric Clapton !
Tears in Heaven (Unplugged)
He wrote this song for his dead song. Makes it even sadder. Don't cry!!!!!!!!
Wonderful tonight (Unplugged)
Alberta (Unplugged)
An absolutely amazing song, with as a title the name of someone we all know !
Hope you liked our article !
