Reading recommendations
Dear Charlie,
It was quite a pleasure to listen to the reading reviews of the OIB 2de. Thank you!
They were all interesting but our class top 5 are:
One Day, David Nicholls
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, John Boyne
The Hobbit, J.R.R Tolkien
The Help, Kathryn Stockett
The House of Sleep, Jonathan Coe
And not far behind
The Old Man and the Sea; Ernest Hemingway
Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen
Lord of the Flies, William Golding
and as you know, the first book of our book club is
Haroun and the Sea of Stories, Salman Rushdie
If you haven't read them, do so!
Best,
Mrs. C

I really liked The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.
ReplyDeleteI had heard about The boy in the striped pyjamas but know I really want to read it,thanks to Gaetan!
ReplyDeleteThe Old Man and the Sea seemed very interesting to me, too bad people couldn't take much more time to make a more complete analysis or express more precisely their opinion, I could have been charmed by more books..
ReplyDeleteI had finished to read Haroun and The Sea of Stories faster than planned, I just got caught in the story and couldn't stop going on reading...
ReplyDeleteI'd like to thank Judith for her book review, it was captivating too.
The house of sleep looks very pertinent, I reckon it has a lot of plots twist. Lors of the Flies has an intriguing plot as well.
ReplyDeleteI really liked all the book reviews some more than others but I liked all especially The Hobbit presnted by Mary, I really liked the way she presented the book and explained how she felt while ready it and One Day, I watched the movie and I loved it and now I want to read the book so badly.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Gaetan's Book Review, it made me want to read the boy in striped pyjamas.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Gaetan's book review on the boy in striped pyjamas, it made me want to read the book.
ReplyDeleteI did like Juliette's reviews, which was so long but so cool! She makes me want to read the book!
ReplyDeleteThe Boy in The Striped Pyjamas was also well introduced by Gaetan, it seems to be an intereting story about WW 2!
I found all the book reviews great, but I really enjoyed "The House of Sleep" presented by Paloma. She really made me want to read the book! It looked very interesting... Thank you to all of you for your book reviews!
