Just Dance!

Hii! 

    I'm back again with another game article! If you haven't guessed by the title I'll be talking about the game franchise Just Dance. First released in 2009 on the Wii, this game series is still active until today as they released the new 2026 version. The games are available on many platforms, enough for you to at least own one (from Wii, PS3-PS5, Xbox, iOS, Android, Nintendo and even Microsoft). They release a new one each year adding more and more songs, either by popularity or by the year. It's a game I often find myself playing with friends late at night, always competitive while still remaining fun. 

    Compared to a lot of games where you stay behind your screen and play using the keyboard or controller this one requires you to... DANCE ! You choose the song you wanna play based on your liking or difficulty or if you play in the co-op version with players from all around the world! There's really songs from all years and all genres so you'll definitively find one you will enjoy. The mechanics in themselves are quite easy and doesn't require much game knowledge so I would say it's quite beginner friendly however depending on your stamina you'll get tired quicker or not!! (It also depends on which song difficulty you choose as some are made to be hard or cardio based). You also choose which dancer you will follow depending on the amount of dancers for the song. You will have to redo the dance movement shown on screen at the same time as the dancer:

    You have the lyrics on the bottom left corner for you fellow singers, but more importantly you actually have the dance move on the bottom right (however a lot of people actually prefer to mimic the dancer as it is easier for them..... I'm not one of them sorry I follow the little symbols.... ). You will get points depending on how well you do the move and there's also special moves that are golden that give you points! This all increase the bar on the left who represents your final score: 1,2,3,4 or 5 stars and if your score is higher than 10000, which is for 5 stars, you will get Superstar for 11000 and Megastar for 12000! So the game can be quite competitive in order to reach the higher score. 

    You can unlock backgrounds and avatars after completing some songs to a certain level to customize you profile but it's not very important.  

    Throughout the years the graphics really improved and they've added a lot of songs (you can find the song lists online if you're interest I won't list them). Like in terms of costumes color and even the game design :

    They also decided midway to introduce lore in their games, if you are interested I recommend you checking out some videos on YouTube such as Just dance icebergs or lore videos.
