Olympique de Marseille: Pride of a City, Heart of the People

Growing up in Marseille, supporting Olympique de Marseille isn’t a choice — it’s in your blood. The chants, the shirts, the Vélodrome roaring on match day — OM is everywhere. It’s not just our football team. It’s our identity.

Founded in 1899, OM quickly became one of France’s most iconic clubs. With 9 Ligue 1 titles and 10 Coupes de France, the team has built a long history of success. But the moment that defines us more than anything else is May 26, 1993 — when OM beat AC Milan to become the first and only French club to win the UEFA Champions League. A header from Basile Boli, a city that exploded with joy, and a phrase that will never die:
“À jamais les premiers.” Forever the first.

But OM is about more than just trophies. We've been through dark times — scandals, relegation, heartbreak. Yet the fans never turned their backs. We filled the stadium in Ligue 2. We sang even louder after tough losses. That’s the Marseille spirit: proud, loud, and loyal no matter what.

The Stade Vélodrome is the most electric stadiums in Europe. When it’s full, when the South Winners light the flares and the fans sing “Aux armes,” you feel the whole city vibrating.

Today, OM is still fighting — in Ligue 1, in Europe, and in the hearts of the next generation. Players come and go, managers change, but one thing stays the same: our love for this club.

Because in Marseille, OM is more than football.
It’s who we are.

Allez l’OM. Droit au but. FORZA INTER RIGHT NOW.
