The Feminist Engagement of Emma Watson

E.Watson defines feminism as follows :
Feminism by definition is the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of political, economic and social equality of the sexes.
In July 2014 Emma Watson was named Goodwill ambassador by UNO Women. This september she prononced a speech to launch the HeForShe campaign. The HeForShe campaign is about gender equality it aims to reduce disparity rate in the world. The founders of the campaign want to push people to fight against gender inequality. At the moment it engages a strong advertising campaign.
The plot of the speech
E.Watson gives example of women inquality who makes us realize that we see inequalities every day. She insits about how men's engagement is important . For her, gender equalities means women paid the same as men, women able to make decisions about their own body, women involved on the decisions that would affect their life and women who can afford the same respect as men. Although there is  no one country in the world where all woman can expect to see this rights.
« If we stop defining each other by what we are not, and start defining ourselves by who we are, we can all be freer, and this is what HeForShe is about. It’s about freedom. »

E.Watson 'speech has been very applaused  but on 4chan (a social network) unknown people threatened  to publish naked photos of Emma to

« show the world that she's just a slut like every other women».
It's not the first time that E.Watson defends the women rights, last year as an aswer to the vice-Prime Minister of Turkey who say that women shouldn't laugh out loud in public, she posted a pictures of her laughing in the street.

The HeForShe website is totally incomplete, it say what the aim is but it isn't very clear about how it  want to end the inequality.  On the site you can join the campaign but only if you're a man. It's a men and women fight. The comments about E.Watson 's speech shows that it's not only about gender equality but also about humanity. Maybe Emma and the campaign insist a bit to much about men help but Gender equality is men's issues too, because men and women are caught by gender stereotypes. In certain cases men have less rights than women like for child care. Men should have the rights to be concerned about their children because women can't give birth alone. On majority women have less rights than men and still in majority all the critism about gender equality are made by men. And I think that HeForShe should explain were is the limit   enters the difference between men and women and the inegality between men and women.
