The coolest thing ever 

Hey charlie, 

As part of my family lives in Northern California, I went and visited them this summer, as my family and I always do during the summer. However, this year wasn't like any others, as we were able to witness one of the most amazing things ever : the World Dog Surfing Competition !(no, its not a joke)

 It is an actual real event, which clearly confirms americans' crazyness (and I'm all here for it). The competitions happen every year, and are actually known worldwide ! This summer's happened in Pacifica beach, which is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, and although it seems surreal, it is a very real event, and honestly made me want to change my life plans and get into the dog surfing game.

 The event was created by the author of a book named "The dog's guide to surfing", and the first competitions were held in California, in 2016. However, this event isn't the only one promoting dog surfing : The "Loews Coronado bay resort surf dog competition" was held at Imperial Beach in California, and has been described as the largest dog surfing competition in the United States.The first competition was held in 2006. See, dog surfing, as crazy as it may seem, is prettty legit 

In fact, report of dogs surfing have been made in the 1920s, in California and Hawaii ! 

 The competitions are usually classified in different categories : small dogs, medium dogs, tandem dogs (when several dogs surf together on one board), and dogs with their master. Careful though, this doesn't mean the dogs passle on their own with their boards (obviously !); their masters pusgh the boards when a wave comes by, and the dogs just basically stand on the board while the waves push them. It is honestly one of the best things I have ever watched, and I measure my words. Some dogs were brazilian, spanish, and even japanese ! Of course, I am not even mentionning the spectator dogs on the beach, who were all dressed up (as were some of the surfing dogs) -american style ! I mean, if these pictures aren't going to convince you, what is ? If you ever stop by San Francisco next summer, you should definitely think of the dog surfing competition; I assure you, after seeing that, nothing in your life will ever be incomplete
