Hi Charlie. I hope life's good for you in this warm december.
I'm writing to you to tell you that, today, I think you're ready... ready to hear about Lido.
Actually, I've prepared myself mentally for several days not to write a memoir about the man. Lido's a norwegian artist, that has really tried everything : he composes, sings, plays, writes his lyrics. He's began by rapping under the name of LidoLido (100% effort tho). To show you, I actually found this live video, so it's even better :D

One of the reasons why I'm writing this article is because I ADMIRE how he went from this pretty good rap to today, a very original electro. In his debut album that isn't really a debut album cause he's already done two in the LidoLido time but anyway (check them out!!! Battle Poetry [oh hi poetry!!!] and Pretty Girls & Grey Sweaters). So as Lido, his debut album called Everything is a masterpiece (simple and pure review I know) about how he's going through the differents steps of breaking up. I couldn't select 2 or 3 songs out of the album, seen as the best ones. I just couldn't make a choiiiiiice ! Anyway, he's managed to create a very personal atmosphere within all the songs, actually several of his interviews can explain to you better than I'm trying to how the album was made.
My personal favourite video off his is a concert with a symphonic orchestra. It's the very first time in my life I've seen, as I could in a very clingy way call it symphonic electro. I know, this naming's gross, but it sums it up. It's basically 47 minutes of pure beauty.

(I got it off from a norwegian's tv channel website so that you have it in HD! :))
I really hope you'll enjoy ! He's one of my favourite artists, and I'll hope I'll have some people converted ahahaha.
Have a good week-eeeeeeend :*

I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoys Scandinavian artists ^^
ReplyDeleteLittle tip, if you want to put a video, use the little thing that looks like a clap, thus you won't have the URL of the video but the real video on the blog.
You've been loving the word "thus" a lot lately.
DeleteAha I was wondering how everyone put it that way ahaha thank you ! And yea northern artists really have talent!
