POETRY COMPETITION FINAL CHOICE URGENT

Dear Charlie,
I am to send the poems for the poetry competition tomorrow.
First of all, many thanks to the  OIB poets who contributed.
Could you &  the OIB community (Teachers & students) help me choose which poem to send?
I'm warning you this is no easy choice. Our poets are very talented.

SELECTION 1 POEM TO REPRESENT THE PREMIERE AND TERMINALE STUDENTS

POEM 1
Stone by stone they built me up, with shards of metal spiking up
I lied strong under the starry sky
And as the hot pale globe rose
Began the massage, the dance
Now I'm old and I remember :
Those children crawling on my back
Now they've been replaced by crust and dust and plants
And just like me they disappear, my
World is crumbling, myself
I've lived my life but now…
In this forest, where I was born
I recognize nothing, I forgot all
I am only an old bridge crumbling down.

POEM 2
Drowsy steps

All sounds confuse to found
A fluid melody
From whose timbres confound
To flow mellifluously

One step on the Bridge

From the whistling wind
Pounding on the outside
To the steady breathing
Rhythm of the other side

One more step on the Bridge

To the curtain of mist
Thickening in the mind
Spreading through the body
In your veins like blood and then

One step further on the Bridge

Appear some images
Patches of illusion
And all of a sudden
A dream rises

One last step on the Bridge.

POEM 3

Over water and over land
They hang.
They symbolize greatness,
Elegance, change,
But few are the people
Who see them
For what they are.
Few are the people,
Who in bridges
Will see brick, metal,
Or the calculations
Put into every square inch
Of these man-made paths.

SELECTION 1 POEM TO REPRESENT THE SECONDE STUDENTS

POEM 1:
The old rainbow

The sun is rising slowly, hidden
behind this monument of another time.
When the sunlight caresses him, my raining days are forgotten,
but he is always white-faced especially at wintertime with his coat of icing rimes.

From the bottom, he looks massive.
Bystanders are crossing him, tired, pressed and impassive,
Tarnished by the years and yet sublime,
He is the witness of the passing of time.

Now that the sun has disappeared to let
The darkness live, the stars are shining for him,
The milky way has laid down on him,
While I'm listening to the babbling brook, the silence's threat.

No bystanders anymore, only me and my loneliness,
Silently shouting in that peaceful hell.
The shadow of the thousand-year-old structure is trying to swell,
To protect me from the ghosts of the night, I'm fearless.

Either with the painted sun or with the blue moon,
I'm here, like a root of the Earth, seing the stream of tears,
And his roof like a rainbow, linking the two edges of the river,
Like a vein linking the heart to the head, the Bridge.

POEM 2

Bridges of Love.

When I'm thinking too much
and my head is too full
too dark
too deep
and I wonder about life and anxiety.
When I am felling dark and twisted
Anger in my head
Eager to get on the other side of my sorrow
The bridges we build help me get through
the black hole
of loneliness.
I won't fall into the water
underneath my feet, only sweet memories
Like a cloud fill with drops of love
It's a path made of our tenderness
When I'm feeling blue
Tears filling my eyes
Can't see where I'm heading
Lost in my scary thoughts
Bonds in my head help me
and when I'm on our bridges nothing can get me.
There is a secret bond, a felling between us,
Hope I won't fall and forget
Cause without your love
I will sink in my sea.
